Info for mentors

Opportunities

Strengthening soft skills, developing the basics of time and project management, and successfully managing a mentoring relationship are just some of the key qualifications that tandemPLUS aims to impart that are intended to promote future entry into professional life. In addition, mentors can consolidate content for their own studies through the exchange of ideas with their mentees and in this way deepen their didactic skills.

Because we expect a great deal of commitment from our mentors, their efforts are rewarded in the form of an assistant contract for 6 months and 4 hours per week.

Conditions

The mentors are available to their respective mentees for 16 hours per month for one semester, which can be allocated individually in each tandem. During particularly work-intensive periods, hours can therefore also be "worked in advance". Participation in the three accompanying workshops is a special privilege for the tandems and does not count towards the mentors' contractually agreed-upon working hours.

After successful completion of the program, a feedback session, and submission of the final report, participants receive a certificate of participation.

Tasks

Mentors primarily take on study-related tasks. This includes, for example, the preparation of lecture notes, help with course preparation and follow-up, the creation of course curricula, support with literature research, or help with exam preparation.
