Opportunities

Because illness or important family-related appointments are rarely foreseeable, study-related support is designed to give mentees the time flexibility that is so important when combining studies with family needs. tandemPLUS is designed to help mentees connect with their studies and provide impetus to further shape those studies.

Support

Since mentors study the same subject as the mentees, mentors can support their mentees with study-related tasks in terms of content and organization. This includes, for example, the preparation of lecture notes, help with course preparation and follow-up, the creation of course curricula, the procurement and delivery of library books, or help with exam preparation. However, mentors are not responsible for family-related tasks.

Upon successful completion of the program, a feedback session, and submission of the final report, participants receive a certificate of participation. Testimonials from former tandems can be found here:

Prerequisite

Mentees should be in the process of obtaining their first degree, i.e. they should not yet have an academic degree (exception: master's students are admitted).
